Author Meeting of MISO Members with Kamil Dziubka
The conversation was moderated by Dr Anna Materska-Sosnowska, political scientist and commentator on political life, who ensured a substantive and dynamic format for the meeting. Questions from both the moderator and the audience helped outline the context of the events described in the book and made it possible to look at politics not only through the perspective of institutions, but also through the perspective of people, relationships, and informal arrangements shaping the decision-making process.
During the discussion, Mr. Dziubka addressed both the pivotal moments in Donald Tusk’s career and those less visible to the public eye, related to the functioning of the political back office, the role of loyalty and internal conflicts, and the specifics of crafting a leader’s public image. The conversation also concerned the changes that have taken place in the model of political leadership over the last two decades, particularly in the context of the growing importance of media communication and rapid information flows.
In the second part of the meeting, the discussion turned to the role of the media, the quality of public debate, and the responsibility of journalists and politicians in shaping public opinion. The exchange of views demonstrated that the relationship between power, the media, and citizens is of particular interest to participants and raises many questions about the future of public dialogue in Poland.
The event featured an active Q&A session, during which participants asked about both the book itself and the current political situation in Poland and Europe, as well as the challenges facing contemporary leaders.
As is tradition for this series, the event concluded with a book-signing session for Kierownik. Kulisy władzy Donalda Tuska and brief individual conversations with the author.
