Author Meeting of MISO Members with Radomir Wit
During the meeting, participants had the opportunity to listen to the author speak with passion and sincerity about his reporting work, the realities of the Polish Sejm, and the challenges faced by journalists covering political life. While the discussion revolved around the book’s content, it quickly broadened to include wider issues related to contemporary media and their role in shaping public opinion. Topics included freedom of speech as a cornerstone of democratic society and the need for dialogue grounded in a culture of discussion and mutual respect.
An important part of the conversation focused on the role of journalists in an era of information overload and the increasingly rapid flow of news. The author emphasized the significance of reliability, objectivity, and responsibility for one’s words — qualities that are especially crucial at a time when the line between opinion and fact is becoming increasingly blurred. In this context, the discussion also addressed the problem of disinformation, its impact on civil society, and ways to counter its effects.
After the conversation moderated by Patryk Michalski, it was time for an open discussion with the audience. Participants eagerly asked questions and shared their views and observations, resulting in a lively and inspiring exchange of ideas.
The book Sejm Wita served as a starting point for a deeper conversation about the state of public debate in Poland and the importance of citizens’ conscious engagement in social life. The meeting demonstrated that interest in the topics of media, politics, and the quality of public communication remains strong, and that the need for substantive dialogue is as relevant as ever.
At the end of the event, all guests — in keeping with the tradition of the series — had the opportunity to receive a copy of the book with a personalized dedication from the author. It was also a chance for a brief conversation with Radomir Wit and an exchange of a few words in a friendly, direct atmosphere.
