“Does extremism create a threat nowadays?” - DEBATE WITH THE PRESIDENT OF THE REPUBLIC OF POLAND


On 6th December 2012 the President of the Foundation Mateusz Komorowski and the member of Foundation’s Board Maciej Pisz took part in a debate organized by the President Bronisław Komorowski in Belveder. The meeting was devoted to the latest events in our country, i.a. celebrations of the Independence Day (11th November), titled: “Does extremism create a threat nowadays?”

The President Bronisław Komorowski shared an opinion during the debate that there was a tendency for not only radical opinions but also radical methods of action. The President stated using the word „extreme” should be done cautiously.

 

According to the President extremes play a role from time to time - usually of a distractive character –- in the history of Europe and Poland.

 

The debate was one of the debates within “The Concepts of the New Age”. The debates are organized at the initiative and under auspices of the President Komorowski. Until now Francis Fukuyama, Henry Kissinger, Richard Pipes have been the guests of the President.
