Civic Workshops in Wielun
We enjoy much more rights and opportunities to act than we think we have! All what is needed is to aptly and consciously utilize the instruments which safeguard a modern democratic state of law for the citizens.
During the Workshops we are explaining inter alia how to become an informed voter, how to make use of the rights conferred upon us and how to engage locally, in what ways we can collect funding for civic initiatives and social activity. We are also giving legal advice, advice related to civic activity and are answering all questions raised by the audience.
The Workshops comprise three parts:
-
How to be a voter and not only vote (Hanna Rawska from MamPrawoWiedziec.pl)
-
We are collecting money via crowdfunding (Kamil Musielak from the International Institute of Civil Society’s Centre for Analysis)
-
The citizen has a right (Maciej Pisz from the MISO Foundation)
During the first part of the Workshops we are addressing inter alia the rights and obligations of the voters, the peculiarities of the election campaign, as well as the election process itself. The second panel is devoted to the specific discussion about “crowdfunding” in Poland and in the world. During the third panel we introduce the constitutional and statutory safeguards for the functioning of the civil society in Poland and talk about the basic civil rights and freedoms set forth in the Polish law.
