Embassy of Civil Society with Vice Ambassador of Italy

On November 30, 2021, the office of the International Institute of Civil Society in Warsaw hosted a meeting dedicated to Italy within the framework of the project entitled “Embassy of Civil Society”, whose special guest was Ms. Laura Ranalli - Vice Ambassador of Italy in Poland. The moderator of the meeting was editor Wojciech Szeląg - Member of the MISO Program Council.

The first meeting of the new “Embassy of Civil Society” program is behind us. Participants of the event had an opportunity to discuss, among other things, the understanding of the third sector and civil society and the involvement of Italians therein. Much of the conversation also focused on the role played by NGOs at the height of the 2015 migration crisis.

“Embassy of Civil Society” is MISO's periodic meetings with diplomats on the broader topic of civil society in a country a given diplomat represents, i.e. the definition and understanding of civil society, manifestations of civil society, problems and challenges of civil society, laws on civil society, financing of civil society, activities of NGOs and social movements, among others.

Meetings are held with representatives of countries that have diplomatic missions in Poland and are conducted by Prof. Renata Mieńkowska-Norkiene - Chair of the MISO Program Council and Wojciech Szeląg - Member of the MISO Program Council.
