The keynote speaker was Michael Gold, Director of Development at Redwire Space. He previously served as NASA's Deputy Administrator for Space Policy and Partnerships. In the first part of the meeting, the guests had a chance to listen to the presentation by Mike Gold on space travel and the basic elements of space operations. The speaker shared his knowledge and experience of technology and prospects for the development of the space sector. The guests gathered at MISO were able to learn about the values guiding the formation of the Artemis Accords coalition. As Mike Gold pointed out in his speech, financial investment in space exploration can bring discoveries that are crucial to solving global problems and building a better future for humanity.
In the second part of the meeting, a question-and-answer session was held, in which participants had the opportunity to ask questions to the keynote speaker. As summarized, the key direction of development of the space industry is technological progress and expansion of the private space sector, which offers great opportunities for the Polish space business.
During the discussion the following points were raised:
- The next key breakthrough that the space sector is waiting for: what kind of technology is needed to conquer the outer space.
- Prospects for the future of the space sector in countries starting out in the outer space conquest, such as Poland.
- Redwire's business plans on the global and European scale.
Questions were raised how young space sector professionals can cope with the difficulties of gaining experience with space industry projects. Mike Gold gave an inspiring answer, saying that the key to participating in missions is tenacity.
As summarized, the involvement of the public and private sectors in space exploration can bring the most opportunities for technological progress, economic and social growth, while helping to support fields such as agriculture, biotechnology, communications and energy.
At the end of the meeting, the speaker stressed the importance of the Polish space sector's participation in the context of shaping the future. As he said: "Few countries have such incredible human capital, diversity and knowledge as Poland." He expressed his gratitude to the audience for participating in the exciting meeting.
