The application is part of activities undertaken by MISO and EON46 S.A., as part of a broader civic project called “Whistleblower.” Its goal is to promote and disseminate knowledge about whistleblowing, work to make legal protection of whistleblowers a reality, and develop civic awareness and foster civic attitudes, consisting in the disclosure of irregularities by people who, in connection with their professional, scientific or social activity, encounter actions that are illegal or constitute an abuse of the law.

As part of the agreement, we signed in July 2021 with the company EON46 S.A.(developer of the application), the International Institute of Civil Society has taken on the role of Social Coordinator of the Whistleblower Project.

Our goal is to strengthen civil society, raise civic awareness regarding the institution of whistleblowing, and encourage response and reporting (disclosure) of irregularities. We also draw attention to an urgent need to introduce - into the legal order - comprehensive, effective protection for whistleblowers that would meet international standards, and to guarantee proper responses to whistleblowing by creating appropriate forms and procedures.

One of the primary areas of cooperation undertaken within the framework of the Whistleblower Project was the creation of the Whistleblower Application and making it available for free to the public.

After several months of operation of the application, we moved to the next stage - the so-called follow-up. To this end, we held a consultation meeting to which we had invited security experts, lawyers and representatives of partner NGOs. We listened to extremely valuable comments on the development of the application, which we are currently seeking intensively to implement.

Our interviewers acknowledged that the Whistleblower application is a very good, simple and intuitive tool that significantly facilitates and speeds up the process of reporting wrongdoings, crimes or important social issues to relevant services, institutions and organizations.

An important functionality of this tool is the ability to instantly record and send evidence of wrongdoing or crimes to dedicated entities. The application also allows, among other things, to archive reports and raise social issues on local discussion forums.
